YESTERDAY
First day back at uni teaching nervous 3rd year dental students. It was their first experience with a real, live patient and most of them were quaking with fear. Mind you, all they did was do an exam and take a history, which took all of them over three hours. Oh well, they're here to learn.
TJ took me out for Valentine's day, to Prime in Martin Place, supposedly the best steak in Sydney. He's trying so hard. Bless.
(FYI: The steak? Good, but not "the best steak in Sydney". The mash served with the steak? Faaaaaaabulous.)

Poor patients...Hopefully they didn't have anything better to do or anywhere better to be.
being much closer to 3rd year than to graduation i have to say it STILL makes me nervous treating a new patient!
Pity the poor student oh all knowing and all powerful demonstrators (who always tell how bad my treatment plan is...)
i remember the first patient i ever tratment planned and actually treated. i was supposed to do a DO amalgam on #15 and accidently drilled the existing amalgam out of #14 (i let the patient know and replaced it - she was cool but i never quite lived that down). i was so embarassed! the whole ordeal took me over 3 hours. the typical schedule for a third year clinic student is one patient in the morning, one patient in the afternoon.
man, i don't miss those days!
